Alto-Shaam India Plants 50 Trees to Support Reforestation in Pur Gairan
Pune team partners with 14 Trees Foundation to help restore degraded land through a long-term, trackable reforestation initiative.

As part of Alto-Shaam's commitment to supporting its global industry and communities, the Alto-Shaam India team recently partnered with the 14 Trees Foundation to contribute to a reforestation project in Pur Gairan, Maharashtra. Through the initiative, employees helped restore degraded land while engaging employees in hands-on environmental stewardship.
The initiative was made possible through a $2,500 donation from Alto-Shaam's Social Responsibility Committee, funding the planting of 50 native trees as part of a larger ecological restoration effort led by the 14 Trees Foundation.
A Partner Creating Long-Term Environmental Impact
Founded in 2014, the 14 Trees Foundation works to restore barren and degraded landscapes across Maharashtra through large-scale tree planting, rainwater harvesting, and long-term land stewardship. What began as a four-acre restoration project has grown into a program that has planted approximately 250,000 trees across more than 1,500 acres. The organization's model focuses not only on planting trees, but also on ensuring their survival through ongoing care, monitoring, and community involvement. One of the reasons Alto-Shaam chose to support the 14 Trees Foundation is its commitment to measurable, sustainable results. Every tree planted is assigned a unique ID and geolocation, allowing growth and health to be monitored over time. Local workers care for the trees during their critical early years, helping the foundation achieve survival rates exceeding 90%.
Bringing Employees Together to Make a Difference

More than 25 Alto-Shaam India employees participated in the volunteer event, coming together from across the organization to plant native species including Ashoka, Jamun, Mahua, and Karanj trees. Working side by side with representatives from 14 Trees Foundation, employees helped transform a portion of formerly degraded land into the foundation for a future forest.
Investing in a Lasting Legacy
This initiative reflects Alto-Shaam's Supporting Our Global Industry & Communities Social Responsibility pillar, which focuses on creating meaningful impact through community engagement, volunteerism and strategic partnerships around the world.
The trees planted through Alto-Shaam's donation will contribute to improved biodiversity, reduced soil erosion, and long-term environmental benefits for the surrounding community. Once the forest becomes established, stewardship of the land will eventually return to the local village and gram panchayat.
While the day's effort resulted in 50 newly planted trees, the impact extends far beyond a single volunteer event. Through Alto-Shaam's partnership with the 14 Trees Foundation, employees helped support a project designed to create environmental benefits for years to come while strengthening the communities where we live and work.
