Alto-Shaam Marks Completion of Major HQ Expansion with Grand Opening of New Innovation and Fulfillment Center

Alto-Shaam officially marked the completion of its major headquarters expansion with the grand opening of the Innovation and Fulfillment Center – a project representing a transformative investment in its people, operations, and future growth.  

The expansion adds 128,000 sq ft to Alto-Shaam's Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin campus. The Innovation Center offers spaces to fuel innovation, including modern engineering and product-development spaces that foster private and collaborative work and a state-of-the art testing lab.

Reflecting on 70 years of family ownership and innovation, and fostering what’s next for the business, the office design brings Alto-Shaam’s brand story to life – from nods to the exclusive technology to the founder’s wall and highlighting customers’ cuisines around the world. With that, the cutting-edge Fulfillment Center provides an expanded, automated warehouse and shipping hub designed to drive discipline and efficiency, greatly improving workflow and customer experience. 

Alto-Shaam employees, partners, industry peers and community guests gathered to celebrate the grand opening, another significant milestone in the company’s 70^th anniversary year. The special event featured a welcome from second generation owner and CEO Steve Maahs, guided tours, and a first look at the state-of-the-art spaces supporting its next chapter.  

As Steve explains: “The Innovation and Fulfilment Center is an investment in our future. This accomplishment highlights our exceptional teamwork, long-term planning, effective execution, and innovative thinking—all of which drive our ongoing success.”

The expansion is already delivering an impact. “Everything just flows,” commented Cindy Zbytniewski, Director of Customer Experience. “We are all back together under one roof, bringing our shipping team back from the offsite warehouse. This is our last leg from the factory to our freight carriers, and everyone is happier end-to-end. We strive to delight our customers and deliver on-time ships and expanded Quick Ship offerings.”

In addition to the new warehouse and shipping operation, the expansion brings modernized workspaces, 12 conference and collaboration rooms, and enhanced amenities and break-out spaces designed to support teamwork, productivity and employee wellbeing.
