Alto-Shaam memorial golf event raises new record total for Blood Cancer United

Alto-Shaam’s 2025 golf event raised another record-breaking amount for Blood Cancer United and NHL research, honoring founder Jerry Maahs.

For the second consecutive year, Alto-Shaam raised a new record total at its memorial golf event held in support of the newly rebranded Blood Cancer United (formerly the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society), and in memory of Alto-Shaam founder, Jerry Maahs, who passed away from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL) in 2006.

Golf for a Cure 2025, held at Ironwood golf course in Sussex, Wisconsin, welcomed more than 200 golfers and raised a record-breaking $173,700, including a dollar-for-dollar match from Alto-Shaam. In a 17-year partnership with Blood Cancer United (formerly LLS), Alto-Shaam has raised more than one million dollars.

“As always, Golf for a Cure would not be possible without the support of our partners, sponsors and employees, and I would like to sincerely thank everyone who participated and contributed to what was another record-breaking year,” says Steve Maahs, Alto-Shaam CEO. “This huge support in this fantastic and important charity ensures that an increasing range of NHL patients can access new and innovative forms of treatment.”

The proceeds from the event will go towards Blood Cancer United’s Dare to Dream Project, college scholarships for childhood blood cancer survivors in the local community, and the Jerry Maahs’ memorial fund for NHL Research.
