The awards celebrate organizations with 150 or more employees that have built great culture within their business. More than 39,000 organizations across the US were invited to participate in the 2025 awards, with the winners selected solely on employee feedback gathered through an employee engagement survey, including 15 culture drivers proven to predict high performance against industry benchmarks.

Additionally, Alto-Shaam CEO Steve Maahs was recognized with a special Leadership award within the large business category, based on exceptionally high employee survey scores.

Steve says receiving a Top Workplaces award is recognition of Alto-Shaam’s total commitment and investment in its family values and culture.

“As a multigenerational, private company, our Alto-Shaam family is at the heart of everything we do," Steve said. "We are committed to providing our people with a career that empowers them to make a difference, offering opportunities for growth, learning and development, so that we can achieve success together.”

"A Top Workplace award brings a company's culture to the national stage and helps them to differentiate themselves in a fiercely competitive market space," says Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. "It's an honor for the workforce and an effective tool to attract the right talent to an organization."
