Apple Kugel
Delicious apple kugel baked in a combi oven.
Ingredients
1 LB. (453 g) flat egg noodles
6 eggs
2 C. (473 ml) sugar
1/4 C. (59 ml) raisins
1 t. (5 ml) vanilla extract
1 t. (5 ml) ground cinnamon
1 t. (5 ml) salt
16 oz. (473 ml) sliced canned apples
Preparation
- Steam the noodles coverd with water in a 2” pan on 212ºF (100 C) steam for 20 minutes, drain and cool.
- In a bowl mix the eggs, sugar, raisins, vanilla, cinnamon and salt.
- Add the noodles, stir to incorporate.
- Fold in the apples.
- Preheat combi oven to 325ºF (162 C)
- Bake mixture in combi mode at 325ºF (162 C), 100% humidity, 80% fan – use a greased half pan (12"x10"/30x25 cm) for 30 minutes or until the custard is set.
Serve with fresh berries.
